SSS nabs 5 pipeline vandals in Niger

Members of vigilante group, numbering five were on Friday said to have been arrested by the operatives of State Security Service (SSS) following their involvement in destruction of petroleum pipeline at Kilometre two, near Malam Karo in Suleja local government area of Niger State.
Sunday Trust gathered that the suspects used hammer and chisel to puncture the pipeline and were reported to have siphoned about 180 jerry cans of Automated Gas Oil (AGO).
The law enforcement agents that turned to vandals were said to have illegally diverted the product with a view of taking same to the market but in the process luck run out of them and were nabbed by the SSS.
Checks also revealed that the suspects that include: Yusuf Isah, Saidu Shuaibu, Ibrahim Aho Ebine, Isiaka Agboriabo and Bola Kwafa were arrested while carrying out the act in the wee hours of the day.
It was also gathered that the suspects are vigilante members that operate in Maje village which is not far way from the scene of the crime.
Contacted on the matter, the state Director of SSS, Dr Larry Obiagwu confirmed the arrest of the suspects.
